It is a fond farewell to this blog. Evidently I just don't have the time. Facebook has taken my soul!
I'll be shutting things down here in the near future.

About Me
A laid back guy finding his way in the world. I'm creative, thoughtful, over-educated, a good cook and down to earth. See my intro regarding my pov on paganism.
Music
From industrial to electronic I listen to whatever catches my ear. Generally I stay away from top 40 and check out punk and indie. At one time many years ago I was a DJ at at University radio station. I have a passion for live music.
Movies
I'm a big fan of Canadian films and my focus is generally on independent films and foreign films. But Hollywood fluff also pops in there. Some of my fav directors: Jim Jarmusch, Peter Greenway, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson ... Some of my fav movies: Brazil, Bladerunner, Deadman, Harold and Maude, The Graduate, Whale Music, Last Night, Breakfast on Pluto, Delicatessen the list goes on and on.
TV
I don't have cable I watch movies. When I did watch TV - Law & Order, Farscape, Ally McBeal, Babylon 5, MASH, Buffy the Vampire Slayer....
Books
A very long list. Classic literature, philosophy, literature, good science fiction, Canadian fiction.
Likes
Sitting on a beach, looking out across the ocean and eating a mango that is so perfectly ripe and sweet that it drips down my cheeks. After finishing that mango I reach down into the surf and wash my hands back and forth back and forth back and forth into the setting sun.
Dislikes
People who seem to live life to complain.
Hobbies
Photography, writing, reading, people watching, hiking.
Vices
I can be stubborn and I sometimes play devil's advocate.
Virtues
I'm the nice guy. The one people trust. A good listener. Sometimes I see this as a vice.
Heroes
I avoid hero worship but I highly respect David Suzuki.

I'm back

I'mmm back! The unpacking from the move is over. They finally hired a replacement for my old position at work so only a couple more weeks before double duty is over. The new pad is great. The landlords are great! I'm spending a lot of time on facebook catching up with old friends I haven't talked to in years. The Gathering for Life on Earth is three weeks away.
another year another move

It's bedtime so I'll keep this short. Why haven't i posted of late? Because I got notice that my rent is going up by $200 (small compared to some of the rent hikes happening in Edmonton) and is response I've been all caught up in finding a new place to live. I've found one and once again I find myself moving. In the two years I've been in Edmonton I've moved thrice. Blahh! Nuff Said. atheistpagan In the moment

Man, You Tube can be seriously adictively nostalgic. At the moment I'm running through Talking Heads vids and live footage. I spent a large chunk of my day today debating the pros and cons on purchasing a new computer and after finally coming to a decision I dropped everything to shake myself into the world. Though it was late in the day I let my feet do the walking and ended up at the Earth Day celebrations right at the point that a reggae inspired band started playing. It was great - it was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. The day had been a long gloomy overcast one and the music literally brought out the sun both in me and in the sky. I often spend too much time thinking out my actions rather than living in the moment and going with the flow. When I do go with the flow I'm usually pleasently surprised by what is around the corner whether it be a friend I haven't seen in awhile or an event I want to take in. atheistpagan Hmmm

Okay, there are some things I miss about living on the West coast but the only person I've ever flown off the handle at is myself when I can't find what I'm looking for at home. :) atheistpagan
